Certain levels expect platforming the game without a jump button which while the sprint fine still feels weird to deal with and certain doors are open by triggers in the world but the triggers hit box is just too limited in size. Certain doors need to be shot instead of opened but there isn't really any indication of which. Most of the levels II found confusing at points in where i'm suppose to go and do. Unfortunately there are still some problems with game mainly the level design. Still the large amount of enemies maybe daunting but the game has allowed friendly fire from the enemies which causes them to in fight at points in the game which again for the age of the game is rather impressive and makes these larger fights much more funner to deal with. There also a huge amount of enemies on screen at multiple points of the game which is pretty impressive for the age of the game especially as the sprites never fade and stay where they are throughout the level.

I think there are only 2 guns i rarely used and that's cause you quickly replace then with more powerful versions. They are much more powerful then previous demons and thus need the use of the more heavier guns so the game is actively making me switch weapons for different situations. Overview: The new enemies which were added added alot of variety to the game. 7/10.ĩh 3m Played+New enemies are huge and varied +Game set up to reward changing up weaponry +Large amount of enmies on screen at once with the ability to cause infighting -Level design can be confusing -Platforming without jumping -Trigger boxes are smaller then they need be. However it has enough to keep you engaged and as I mentioned before, I really did like the mid game stages. In short, yes doom 2 is fun but it did practically nothing new while actually taking a step back in level structure which is a pretty serious blow.

Were it not for savestates, I likely would have stopped playing less than halfway through As a result, unlike doom 1, I didn't bother attempting to find all the secrets as near the end I really was just trying to get it done. Enemies feel like they were placed less for challenge and more to simply piss you off. This game also has plenty of cheap 'oh you picked up an item? well here's 15 pinkies out of nowhere cause fuck you' syndrome.

The sheer, overwhelming maelstrom of enemies is just too much as you will either die via excess gangbang or run through because you simply do not have enough ammo. The final episode however were just linear areas that were simply packed to the absolute brim with all kinds of demons and felt like they were just trying to end the game but pad it out a little by dumping far too many enemies on you. Episode one levels felt fairly meh all around while episode 2, many levels felt unique and fairly refreshing. Speaking of which the demon types added some nice variety as doom one mainly just felt like 45% gunmen/shotgun, 45% imps and 10% trace demons. A meatshot will more or less silence all but the most annoying demons. The super shotgun makes it's triumphant appearance and man is it a blast to use. Well.superior in some ways but to me, inferior all around. This wall will open up revealing the BFG9000.12h 21m Playeddifficulty played: Ultra violence Doom 2, the sequel to the beloved original. Go into the area to your left and either shoot or punch the large demon head icon on the back wall. Go through into this new area and collect the soulsphere directly in front of you which will trigger the walls in the area just behind you opening. Now turn back around and notice that the wall behind where the rocket launcher was has opened. Go up into this new area and press the switch on the right side. This will trigger the floor behind you rising into steps and the back wall opening up. Now go through the door that you were facing when the level started, run to the opposite corner of the room and pick up the rocket launcher. Run all the way down to the end of this corridor, hit the switch on the wall and run back to the room you started in. From the starting point go through the first door to the left from the one you're facing. The earliest point in the game that you can get your hands on a BFG is on the eighth level of Hell On Earth, Tricks And Traps.
